A Man Called Cash
The Man Called Cash: The Life, Love and Faith of an American Legend, by Steve Turner
This book is greatly under-rated and extremely edifying. Sure: Johnny Cash was a flawed man with problems we ought to call "sin problems" that he struggled with his whole life. But that was exactly his confession, and overtly Cash admitted that his only hope, and his only salvation, was in Jesus Christ. No mincing words.
Turner offers this in this book:
{Cash} spoke most often of his spiritual pain. A battle waged within him, he said, between doing his divinely inspired desire to do right and his natural inclination to do wrong, between serving God and serving himself ...
..."I fight the beast in me every day, "he once said. "I've won a few rounds with God's help."
(227)
Highly recommended for a testimony from a man who never compromised his faith in spite of his stutter-stepped walk.

Ted Dekker: Obsessed

It's Los Angeles in the early seventies, and Stephen Friedman is living the groovy southern California life of a real estate wheeler-dealer. He's making money hand-over-fist and has long ago given up hope of finding the family he'd lost in warn-torn Poland. But when a strange, deceased woman's papers reveal that she possessed a priceless religious relic-and that she may have been his mother-Stephen becomes hungry for answers.
His hunger just might kill him. As Stephen frantically pursues his family's lost legacy, someone pursues him-someone equally obsessed with the prize. Looks like the man most obsessed will gain everything. And the loser will lose it all.
In true Ted Dekker style, Obsessed will leave you positively breathless.

Monster, by Frank Peretti

It has been a while since Frank Peretti's last adult fiction book, but he has return in full throttle. Policeman Reed Shelton is guiding his wife, Rebecca ("Beck"), on a no-frills wilderness hike when a strange being attacks them, and they are separated. Bloodied and shaken, Reed crawls back for help, thinking Beck is probably dead. But she's been kidnapped by a band of apelike creatures that may embody what the people of backcountry Idaho tell their tall tales about: Bigfoot, aka Sasquatch. Or there may be another explanation: renegade researchers have been fiddling with DNA and have altered the offspring of chimpanzees into "monster" form.

Jill Phillps "Kingdom Come"

In 2003, we co-hosted the NWA Pastor's Appreciation banquet with KLRC, and one of the featured artists was Jill Phillips. Jill provides a new take on classic hymns of the faith, and she does it with reverence and real joy.
We know what you're thinking: "jump on the bandwagon. Everybody's got a 'hymns' CD now, and Amy Grant liked it so much she's doing it a second time." When we received a promo copy of her new CD, we were excited and thrilled. Jill's folky sound takes these 10 classics of the faith and puts them in a new musical context both relevant and meaningful. Hymns are intended to glorify God but to teach the common man the basic truths of the faith, so they must reach out to the common man. Jill's arrangements and phrasings do that with heart and soul.
And in case you were wondering, you can't get this one on-line. You have to get it at Kingdom Bound.

What you're looking for

Every day at Kingdom Bound Books, we answer questions about Bible translations, Sunday School materials, devotional readings ... you get the idea.
One of the questions we get asked all the time is,
"Do you have that song which helps kids remember the books of the Bible?" Well, it is actually two songs (one for the Old Testament, one for the New Testament), and we do actually have them in stock. They are on the Cedarmont Kids "Toddler Bible Songs",
(picture: left) and we have it at the really-great price of $3.99 EVERY DAY.
For reference, this CD is $3.98 at Amazon, and when we checked at WAL*MART today, they were actually selling it for $6.49! What a great resource for your preschool Sunday school, your family vehicle, your homeschool classroom, ...
BIBLES for a BUCK!

Thomas Nelson and Kingdom Bound Books have partnered for the million-bible challenge this year by offering the new 3-column NKJV Bible for $1.99.
But wait! The Headline says "BIBLES for a BUCK"?! What does that mean? It means that if your ministry or small group neews more than a couple of Bibles, these paperback Bibles can be had for $1 each. It's kinda like Arby's "5 for 5" offer: you buy 5 or more of these Bibles, and each one only costs you $1 plus tax.
These NKJV Bibles are a handy 5"x8" size, and come with a brief history of the Bible in English as well as a beginner's guide to reading your Bible by Robert J. Morgan.
